Rain lives in the herd of ponies in Little Creek's Lakota village. Rain introduces Spirit to the Indian ways and he gradually falls in love with her. The pair are cruelly separated when the cavalry captures Spirit. But after many hardships, they are reunited by Little Creek who frees them both to return to the Homeland.
