Strike Out Champion Pacer Item: 1185 The Canadian-owned Standardbred pacer Strike Out may well have been named Stand Out owing to his track record and unusual chestnut coloring. In 1972, he won the Little Brown Jug in a blistering 1:56-2/5 ¿ setting a record that stood until 1977. He was twice named champion pacer of his age and in 1976, he joined the Standardbred Hall of Fame. He was retired to stud at the famed Castleton Farm in Lexington, Kentucky where he sired a son, Striking Image, who became the first Standardbred to cover a mile in 1:55.
