Breyer Matrix Fall Collector's Choice
Limited to July through December 2008 production
It’s almost impossible to miss an Appaloosa, his flashy spots turning heads everywhere. Matrix, a black semi-leopard Appaloosa, is sure to attract just as much attention. The 2008 Fall Collector’s Choice model, Matrix is the eighth edition in the series.
Like fingerprints, no two Appaloosa’s spots are the same. Snowflake, leopard and blanket are a few of the recognized patterns, and within them, the variations are infinite.
Appearances aside, each pattern is like a map to the past, to the breed’s history and origin, begging the question, where did the spots come from?
Appaloosas are descendants of the Spotted Horses originally developed by the Nez Perce Indians in the northwestern United States. Credited as the first people to selectively breed their horses, the Nez Perce used only the best mares and stallions to produce horses with great stamina, speed and agility. Hunting and trading became easier and more profitable. Horses equaled status and wealth, and the Nez Perce were widely known as themost affluent tribe.
Matrix is the winning entry submitted by Rebecca Lippert of Cochranton, Pennsylvania.
This model is produced on the popular Breyer "Silver" mold.
This is a Traditional Scale Model.
